The teddy bear in this picture is in fact, my favorite Christmas gift this year!
Yes, you may expect to hear this from a 5 year old, but from a 21 year old.....?
Let me explain why this bear is so incredibly special to me.
After my Mom passed away, my Aunt Kathy asked dad for two of Mom's favorite shirts. Dad picked out her pretty cream colored shirt with maroon flowers, and her favorite salmon colored shirt.
Aunt Kathy and Uncle Chris had the shirts made into 'Comfort Bears', and rigged our family's Christmas jingle so they ended up mine and Jaime's names. At our family Christmas they gifted us with these Oh so special bears!
Jaime loved the salmon colored bear, since it was Mom's favorite color and a shirt she wore all the time. I immediately fell in love with the above pictured one, since I was with Mom the day she bought that shirt. I remember standing in the store with her that day and helping her pick in out.
Thank you so, so much, to my wonderful Aunt and Uncle. You filled this first Christmas without my mama with very sweet and special memories. I love my bear, and I'm afraid I may wear it out from hugging it so much; it almost feels like I'm hugging my Mama again :)
And thanks to my Dad.....he picked out the two best shirts possible!
I also received a beautiful necklace from Brittany, my brother's girlfriend. It has the word 'Mom' engraved on it and came with a tear jerking quote:
"Children and Mothers never truly part, bound in the beating of each other's heart."
Thank you so much, Brittany. You also helped fill this Christmas with sweet memories! Your thoughtfulness really touched me and Jaime....hey, you made us both cry:)
