You Know You're Crazy When.....

I was going to title this post, The Week That Never Ends, and tell you about all the funny stuff that's has happened in the office this week due to long hours. However, I realized that the days have actually been going pretty fast this week, and I don't really feel like I've spent an obsessive amount of time there.

So, I realized that all the funny stuff that has happened is not a result of 'office fatigue' on the part of me and my co-worker, but rather as a result of our pure stupidity.

Once I realized that, I knew I had write this post because when I do silly things, I feel so much better when someone can laugh with me :-]


You know you're crazy when.....

.....You walk into the office in the morning and say, " Good morning, chickens! Did you have a nice weekend?" Because yes, there is still a box of little yellow peeps in your office.

.....You try to scan a document while it is still in your hand. Yes, you select the correct file on the computer, open the scanner, close the scanner, press the big blue button, and then wonder why a blank page just appeared on the screen. Placing the document in the scanner is one step that cannot be skipped.

.....You hear your co-worker have the following conversation from across the room: "So, are you gonna be nice to me today? I hope so! If not, I'm putting you out in the cold. No more Mr. Nice Girl. I'm watching you."  Oh, did I mention she's talking to her computer?

.....You answer the phone for the Lock Smith business by saying, "Menchavez Pediatrics, Nurse Advice line, how may I help you?"  Opps :-]

.....You place a document in the copier, close the lid, and then wonder why its not copying. You check the paper tray, ink cartridge, and power cord to find they are all in working order. Hmm, maybe the fact that you forgot to press the big red COPY button has something to do with it?

.....You literally run through the office door when you hear dogs suddenly start barking (hey, when your boss has Nine 150lb Labradors that he lets out all at once, you run when you hear barking) only to discover that its the new security system that was installed over the weekend. Yes, you just ran from a recording. Well, at least you know it works! 

.....You answer the phone for the trucking company and squeal with delight when you take info for a load of paper to be picked up.....in Scranton, PA! Commence humming The Office theme song.

.....You watch your co-worker chase a dump truck down the drive-way waving her arms, yelling, "Stop! Come back! Hey you!" ...still not sure what that was all about...

.....You jump when you open the closet and out walks a cat. How long its been in there, and where it came from...who knows!


I discovered a long time ago that life is so much more fun when you can laugh at yourself!
